IPX?
what game needs IPX?
No one uses IPX anymore. Heck Suse and Netware supports TCP/IP so IPX is like a dead protocol.

NWLink IPX/SPX Protocol Default Value Setup.; 2 minutes to read; In this article. This section shows the options and their functions available in the Network Protocol Default Value Setup dialog box for NWLink IPX/SPX. Jan 12, 2013 I've finally found a way to use ipx on windows 8 (Updated: version 0.6.0 works fine on my install of windows 10) so we can play revolt and airfix dogfighter ove. Michael Whalen. I was looking for NWLink IPX/SPX Protocol to be able to network Win XP and Win 10 (upgrade 70, 8, 10).

Yes this worked great!

Install Ipx Protocol Windows 10
Go to Novell's website and download the Netware client for Vista
It will give you the option to install the IPX/SPX protocol stack, but your windows login screen will change because the Netware client changes the wingina file.

I'm trying to get the C&C series working on IPX as well, got the network adapter set up on one XP machine running NWLink IPX, and installed it on one vista machine following the instructions posted previously - http://www.starbase01.com/site/index.php?aid=87.
Problem is the vista one cant be configured with network numbers, and i dont actually know what to put in there cos i'm not an old fart.
Adapter network number should be equal on both machines right? like AAAAAAAA,
frame type ethernet II?
int. network no. 00000001 - 00000008?
Has anyone managed to get C&C working in IPX? seen so many people on the net with the same problem.

This question already has an answer here:
- How to join a LAN / IPX game on Diablo 1? 2 answers
I have multiple old games that are not available on Steam or GOG such as Diablo 1 and Red Alert 2 that I would like to be able to play multiplayer on my windows 10 machine on my network (i.e. prefer not to mess with Battle Net on Diablo, assuming that even still works). I have added the IPX protocols on older machines via my network properties and just adding IPX. However on my Windows 10 machines the only Network Protocol listed when I go to install is Reliable Multicast Protocol.
Is there still a way to get the IPX protocols added or another workaround for old IPX reliant games?

For old games, IPX Wrapper is a very good choice.
In the case of Red Alert 2, it is not necessary as it also supports TCP, you just have to get this .dll and copy it to your game dir.

In the specific case of Diablo, there is a web-based port of the game available which supports online play.
